
Casseroles are quick and easy to prepare,
they are great if you have to go out, just prepare a casserole
beforehand, put in a low oven, and let it cook slowly.
On your return, very little is needed
to be done, maybe a little more seasoning and the meal is finished.
Cheaper cuts of meat are great for casseroles, as the slow cooking,
tenderizes the meat beautifully.
As well, the meat, potatoes and vegetables
are all cooked together, great if you don’t have a dishwasher!
Casseroles have to have a good stock, of course the meat and vegetables
need moisture to cook, but this could also be made up with a little
wine.
Casseroles can also grace a dinner party
table, it all depends on the ingredients you use.
