have become ever more popular over the last few years, cocktails
bars have sprung up to accommodate the people who need to wind down
after a hard working day. Often the bars have a happy hour when
the cocktails are half price.
There is something special about popping into a cocktail bar after a busy day and choosing a colourful, fruity drink from a long list of different cocktails, a good barkeeper will always be trying out new recipes to please his customers. The cocktails don’t have to have alcohol in them, in fact many don’t, as the customers often have to drive home. The name cocktail may have come from the colourful tail feathers from a cock bird,certainly, a lot of time and trouble is taken to make the drinks as pleasing to the eye as the palate. Cocktails were first served in America in the 19th century for the people who didn’t like the burning taste of neat whisky, the addition of sugar and fruit juices, made the drink far more palatable to many more people.
