Olive
oil, sheeps cheese and garlic all belong to the Greek way of cooking,
along with herbs such as oregano, rosemary, thyme, salbei and
lemon.
Apart from white bread that is always served
with the main meal, baked potatoes or rice are normal accompaniements.
Chosen vegetables are often aubergines, green beans and okra,
which will often accompany lamb or goat meat.
Some of the more known dishes are tsatziki,
dolmades, kebabs, souflaki, gyros and casseroles, which are prepared
in the dish they are served in.
