Include diverse foods in your diet, making use of fruits and vegetables
that are in season, but make sure that the portions to be eaten
aren’t too big.
2. Be careful that not too much fat is in
your daily diet, not forgetting the hidden fat we don’t
see in chocolate, sausage etc.
3. Use salt sparingly, fresh herbs and spices
make a very good substitute.
4. Not too much sugar, sweets should be a
seldom treat.
5. Try and eat plenty of whole wheat products
and musli, they are high in carbohydrates, roughage and nutrients.
6. Serve plenty of vegetables and fruit, they
are full of vitamins and nutrients.
7. Protein is essential in our diet, but too
much animal protein is not.
8. It is recommended to drink at least 2 litres
a day, more by hot weather, mineral water or fresh fruit juices
are best, try and steer clear of drinks with lots of added sugar
and too much alcohol.
9. It is better to eat 5 small meals a day,
rather than 3 big ones.
10. food should be cooked as little as possible,
of course meat needs longer, but vegetables for example, lose
many of their vitamins and nutrints with too much cooking.
