Austria,
although not one of the biggest producers of wine in Europe, never
the less produces very good wine from it’s 4 wine growing
regions. Here, mostly white wine is grown. About 30 different sorts
of grapes are used for the various wines.
Austrian wine is very good because it is very
stricktly controlled, no wine is allowed to have less than 9%
alcohol, by a Prädikatswine it can be as low as 5% Wine in
Austria can only be sold when the grapes used have come from one
of the certified vines that have been given the govermental approval,
hence, the quality can always be guaranteed.
