For
wine production, Spain comes third, behind Italy and France. Wine
production started here over 4000 years ago, and so has a long tradition
in this hot land. Because of the many different and varied regions
of Spain, the wines are also very varied.
The different red and white wines produced
fit beautifully to the mediterranean kitchen, paella, prawns and
the many different fish dishes on offer are perfectly complimented.
Although Spain has the biggest mass of land in Europe for wine
growing, because of the stoney ground this is somewhat impeded.
The biggest wine growing region is Catalonia followed by Castilla
and Andolusia.
